How To Be Creative
Hugh MacLeod gives a realistic manifesto on ‘How To Be Creative‘.
- start small: you don’t need to write a novel or change the world right away, begin with something you can handle in a few hours.
- work hard: creativity isn’t a miracle, it takes hard work and persistence.
- keep your day job: don’t quit your job to write your book, the pressures of finding rent money will soon destroy your inspiration.
- sing in your own voice: don’t try to create something that will sell in a specific market, just create something you’re happy with. people buy things because they’re unique, not because they fit a target market.
- etc.
