Creatures from primordial silicon
Researcher Adrian Thompson used genetic algorithms and evolution to evolve a circuit capable of responding to “go” and “stop” commands, and it only has 1/10 of the components a human designer would have used in the design. The only problem is that he has no idea how it works, and he can’t ask the designer because there isn’t one. I for one welcome our robot overlords!
