uShaka Marine World in Durban

We had a few hours to kill in Durban after a business meeting, so we headed down to uShaka Marine World. They had load shedding so we missed out on a lot of the smaller exhibits, but seeing the baby sharks getting fed, the dolphin show, and the massive biodiversity tanks that you can snorkel in was fantastic; well worth the R98.

I just wish they hadn’t built that waste of space called Ratanga in Cape Town and did something like uShaka instead. Apart from all the once-off attractions, uShaka supports the local surfers, kayakers, and divers, so they’ll have the same people coming back every weekend and supporting them, while people will go to Ratanga once and never again because it’s superficial fun.
